- Ура! - шёпотом кричит Алёша... - Ура! Пошли штурмовички! Они вам дадут жару! (Н. Богданов, Бессмертный горнист) — 'Hurrah!' cried Alyosha in a whisper... 'Hurrah! Our fighter-bombers have gone in. They'll make it hot for you!'

- Танки, значит, прут? - поинтересовался угрюмо Рубин. - Дадут теперь дрозда! (Ю. Бондарев, Горячий снег) — 'So now the tanks are coming, eh?' Rubin droned morosely. 'Give us the works, they will!'
